the batch is located in an area characterized by a housing high density lacking in buildings of special architectural value. Hence the need for a dynamic project, articulated, to break with the surrounding standardization, not in opposition to the context, but rather an incentive to greater usability and enjoyment of the area.
The absence of lines “significant” dictated by the surrounding buildings or land mostly flat, has predominated in the initial study to the needs dictated by the intended use in wine cellar. It was therefore decided to develop the idea of the project in two main directions, orthogonal to each other, the trajectories of the entire architectural composition. The first is the north-south axis, optimal orientation for the rows of vine, the second is the axis orthogonal west-east.
From these guidelines, the process of composition has developed into a complex project both in plan and elevation that has assumed as an ideal concept of “life” as the vine grows along the branches remain a single body, so the project develops freely in space while remaining anchored to two directions starting ensuring order and unity.
In dialogue with the suggestions offered by the site the direction was toward a strong but discreet design, which imposes not for his own ambition to do show themselves but rather for his desire to immerse themselves in the place shaping it, to create one from spaziovivibile ‘entire community by promoting the enhancement of the whole area. The sign-guide of the whole project is drawn from the septum in corten and native stone that cuts the lot in half dictating the spatial composition of all other volumes (corten and plastered), arranged according to the logic suggested by the intended use.
The project is spread over three levels, two underground and one above ground, which intersect seamlessly. The basement and the ground floor are devoted to the wine production process: the grape harvest, which is done in the vineyard placed at “zero” on the back, processing and squeezing until the fermentation and bottling. The vineyard is equipped with an evolved system of grape harvest that takes place by gravity through vertical channels that directly connect the farmland to the tanks. Production is closely related to the commercial aspect, the basement, there is a restaurant on a balcony that offers customers a view of the barrels and processing. Volumes above ground are arranged: the welcome customer-directional and administrative offices. Glue between administrative and production space and commercial, are volumes for residential and / or hotel to the east of which enjoy great views of the vineyard and west of a private patio overlooking the complex designed to accommodate customers and tourists.
